I have c reated a new fuel economy metric, which I am calling gas timeage. To summarize, how often you have to fill up your car based on your life style, commute, etc.
My truck average s around 15 mpg’s, but it also has a 26 gallon tank. Thankfully, my commute, including going home to eat lunch everyday is 10 miles.
Including normal weekend running around town for groceries or having fun I can usually go about 3 weeks without filling up.
What say you Oppo? H ow often do you have to fill up?

Work truck:. five times per month , 425 mile range per tank
IS: twice a month, 310 mile range per tank
Pickup: one a month, 250 mile range per tank

Motorcycles: 0.5 times a day.
Cars/truck: 1 time every two weeks.

If I fill the tank, it’s under a week’s worth of gas for me.
18.5 gallons at 18 mpg, so I usually just fill it at least h alfway twice a week.

Well, that depends on depends on my work schedule, as I drive extremely varied mileage per week. Last week I filled my little focus twice, getting between 25-30 mpg out of a 12 gallon tank. On Friday I pretty much killed a tank of gas as I had to drive 250+ miles to appraise one house in rural NW Ohio.

3-5x per month. Small 11 gallon tank, fairly poor mileage, and a wildly varying drive time.

I fill up my 17 gallon tank once every week and a half or so. I’m getting around 250 miles out of a tank in mostly city driving.

1.5 weeks per fill up, 425 miles to a tank on average and 1 4 gallons of fuel per fill up

400 ish miles a tank usually about 16 gallons to fill it up when the range indicator drops below 30 miles (its a 17 gallon tank). My commute is about 25 miles round trip but its highway at speed so every 2 weeks or so.

I fill up the Forester at least twice per week when I don’t carpool
The weeks we car pool it’s once per week. Cnd units here so 60 litre tank, and I’m getting about 7.7 Litres/100km
The pathfinder is now 100% family hauler and my wife is at home so about once every 2 weeks.

Personal truck: weekly.

Ranger: 4 weeks in the winter 6 in the summer.
BMW: 3-4 weeks only summer driven.

WOW!! How often do you have to drive that far for work? Occasionally that would be awesome, regularly that would be extremely a nnoying.

Twice a week. Once when I leave Baton Rouge. Once when I come home. That’s two 3/4 tank fill- ups. When I was in ground school, it was two full tanks and sometimes a little bit more every week.

Mrs. Blacktruck stays home too and her car gets good mileage. She can it almost 6 weeks out of 18 gallons.

T op up once a week but it hardly ever drops below half a tank. Range is a bit over 400 miles on a tank with average driving, 450 hwy driving conservatively. My wife has a short commute so she can go 2-3 weeks normally.

I am 1 tank per week, or tpw in timage. Actual tpw is 1/2, but I budget a tank for pleasure rips.

I usually get right about 20.5mpg around town and 22-24mpg on the highway with the F-150. My timage is dependent on how often we go up to the lake 90 miles away, and other out of town trips on the weekend. With the usual of a trip up to Abq once ever 2-3 months and going the lake 2 twice a month, along with my 3 mile round trip commute, I fill up twice a month usually. Outside of boating season, I can sometimes go over a month without visiting a gas station. I’m also not one to run the tank low very often, so I could fill up far less often than I do. A combination of my nature, and big distances between possible fuel stops in some of the places I venture to for camping/hiking and the like, there isn’t an incentive to run around with a low tank.

You should calculate your booze mileage, mil es ridden to ounces of booze and beer consumed.

Not too often. I usually try to group several houses in a day, so I maybe drive between 100-150 miles every 3-4 days. My office, however, is 5 miles from my house. Easy commute.

10 to 12 days. my wife's car seems to perpetually stuck on empty

What engine does your F-150 have?
The 6.2 in my Denali is horrible around town hence the 15, but I can get up to 22-23 on the highway if I do speed limit.

I fill up once every three or four months with twelve gallons . My wife fills up once every three weeks with about fifteen gallons. We averaged 38.3mpg driving down to and back from Portland.

2.7 ecoboost. That 22-24 mpg (depending on terrain and wind) is with the cruise set at 80mph. In a state with slower speed limits (or fewer mountains and canyons) , it would certainly do better. Mine also has the shortest available 3.73 gears. They tow like a champ, but I think it would certainly get another 1 or 2mpg better unloaded if it were turning a bit fewer rpms at speed.

So seldom lately that I can’t keep track without a concerted effort. My commute is now 11 miles round trip, and I only make it 3 times a week. I get around 23 mpg with a 14 gallon tank. Combined with any other driving I do I still often go over a month without filling up.

Triumph Bonneville - half a tank every week (16L tank)
I have a very very short commute.

Usually about 2-3 times a month for me...2 or so times during the summer months as I am not traveling
as far for my summer side business, but when I am teaching during the school year I drive a lot for subbing.

Last 25.5 months- 4 fill-ups @~2 gal each, so... every 5-6 months on average (though most of them have been in the summer months, not evenly spaced out, currently sitting on a full tank for the last 6 weeks or so ).
Though if we’re counting electrons, I top up every day or every other day.

Speaking of electrons, I can never own an electric car. My lawnmower is electric and...
Yet again, I forget to charge the batteries between mowings. Guess, I'll finish up later today.

I’ve filled up 16 times in the past year.
~ 11 gallon tank, 10 miles per day commuting, ~50 MPG, so I can get about 11 weeks per tank if I drive to work and back every day (including stops along the way home), and nothing else.
In practice, I do enough other driving that the most I get is 6 weeks a tank.
